There was a lot of dirt/fill brought in over the winter of 2022 and the property may not be as green as years past.** **Be advised that we are slowly working on the property to eventually create more camping space. There are several roadside campfire stations(directly across 101 from camp) offering small bundles for $5-6/night. Hwy 101 can be very dangerous for unsuspecting pets. We do have full time neighbors just to the North, so we ask that you be respectful and cautious with regard to dogs/noise. Beyond the adventuring that can be done on the property, Baker Beach state park is less than a half a mile away and there is a plethora of trails, parks, and lakes within 10 miles. Campers are encouraged to explore, but be aware, this property is wild. This is a large private site that is surrounded by old growth timber and teaming with flora and fauna. This magical property is conveniently located 5 miles north of Florence and directly on Hwy 101, approximately 3/4 of a mile from the ocean. Gaze down at the Siuslaw River and all the wildlife that comes with it! We regularly see deer, red tail hawks, ospreys, and bald eagles. There is a steep gravel driveway but once at the top, it is flat and the view is pretty amazing. This little slice of rugged heaven is just above the Siuslaw River and right off of Hwy 101. This is not a tent camping site unless you have your own porta-potty set up. We offer firewood bundles and farm-fresh chicken eggs for an additional fee. This side of the river was pretty bustling before the Siuslaw bridge was built in 1936, being quite a transformative event considering the ferry from Glenada to Florence was the main way across the river. Glenada was incorporated in 1912 and disincorporated in 1922 after the town's sawmills burned.
